MANNONE INJURED

Hull City goalkeeper Vito Mannone is most likely going to be out for the remainder of the season due to a thigh injury.

The 23-year-old Arsenal loanee was expected to be out for a month following the recurrence of the injury against Nottingham Forest in March.

Tigers boss Nigel Pearson told BBC Radio Humberside: "I don't expect to see him back this season because it's slow progress.

"He's concerned it's a re-occurring injury so we may not see him again."

MANNONE FIT AGAIN

Vito Mannone has recovered from his injury and will be eligible to play for Hull City on Saturday.

To complicate matters fellow loan keeper Vito Mannone is also now fit.

Hull boss Nigel Pearson told BBC Radio Humberside: "We'll look at it over the next few days and what our options are.

"We've got a number of loan players and with Vito's availability now we're going to have a careful look."

Pearson added: "I think he's done very well for us and yes [we would like to keep him], but without jumping the gun we'll see how it develops.

MANNONE RETURNS TO ARSENAL

Vito Mannone is back at Arsenal after his loan spell at Hull city ended due to injury. The 22-year-old Italian sustained a thigh strain in Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Reading and after being forced out of the action late in the game has not been able to shake off the injury.

Mannone, who has made seven starts for the Tigers since arriving at the KC Stadium in mid-October, will receive treatment back at the Emirates Stadium.

MANNONE BACK AT HULL

Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone is back at Hull City on loan. The 22-year-old Italian recently returned to his parent club after suffering a thigh injury in Hull's 1-1 draw with Reading on 28 January.

He has since returned to the KC Stadium but is not expected to be fit until early to mid-February.

"The confidence has grown a lot. The team feels more confident and there's a good togetherness," Vito Mannone told the Hull Daily Mail.

MANNONE EYES HULL STAY

Vito Mannone says that he is looking forward to extend his stay at Hull city. The 22-year-old goalkeeper is currently with the Tigers until January and could prolong his stay.

"I don`t know what will happen," Mannone told the Yorkshire Evening Post. "If the club is happy and I`m happy, we`ll sit down and make a decision."

Vito Mannone has made three appearances for Hull, keeping two clean sheets and producing a string of stunning saves, but he revealed that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger once had different plans for his career.

CONFIDENCE THE KEY FOR MANNONE

Hull City manager Nigel Pearson has said that confidence is the key for Vito Mannone. Vito Mannone is yet to concede in his opening two games for the Tigers, shutting out Preston and Ipswich to help City earn consecutive wins for the first time this season.

Vito Mannone says that he should be the No.1 goalkeeper for Arsenal this season after impressing in short spells last season. Vito Mannone, who had a spell in the first team last season after injuries to both Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski, feels ready for the challenges ahead.

"In my mind, I need to feel the boss does not have a No1, so I need to do my best every training session and in every chance I have in a game," the 22-year-old Italian told the club's website. "That helps you a lot to grow and develop yourself."

Vito Mannone insists that he is happy at Arsenal and hopes to break into the first team this season. The young goalkeeper put in some decent displays for the Gunners last season in the absence of first choice 'keepers Manuel Amunia and Lukasz Fabianski.

The Italian says he did not expect to make so many appearances for the first-team, instead being forced to sit and watch from the Arsenal Hospitality Tickets, but that he enjoyed the opportunity to impress his manager.

Mark Schwarzer has been linked with Arsenal to provide much needed experience for young goalkeepers like Vito Mannone. News emanating from the UK suggests that Portuguese club Sporting Braga have offered Portugal national team stopper Eduardo to the Gunners for around £3.4million ($AUD6million).
